Case Animations by Technology Associates
 | |
Car Strikes Tow Vehicles |
This animation was created to convey a representation of the motion of
two vehicles leading up to an accident based on eyewitness testimony.

Belted vs. Unbelted Occupant |
Technology Associates conducted a simulation to show the difference in occupant motion
between a belted and unbelted rear seat passenger for an impact event.

Pedestrian Struck by Bus |
Technology Associates created an animation to show what a pedestrian saw
leading up to her accident with a turning bus.

Car Strikes Parked Van |
Technology Associates created an animation of this auto accident and
provided views from the perspectives of each witness.

Vehicle Guardrail Impact |
A vehicle traveled off the road, striking a guardrail and streetlight. Technology Associates simulated the
vehicle travel and impacts to determine the acceleration of the vehicle and impact forces during the collisions.

Fall from Balcony |
A person walking along a balcony was alleged to have tripped and fallen through a protective fence. Technology
Associates conducted a parametric analysis to show the effects of a fall while moving at various speeds. It was determined that the
person must have been running or was pushed to have had enough speed to pull out the fence anchorage
and land below in the position she was found.

Belted Occupant Motion During Rollover |
An occupant in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) was ejected through the vehicle's sunroof when the vehicle
rolled over. Technology Associates simulated the rollover using Articulated Total Body (ATB) to show how the driver exited
the vehicle and the difference in movement experienced by a belted and unbelted occupant.

Automobile Rollover During Severe Handling Manuever |
Technology Associates used a vehicle dynamics simulation to predict the path of a vehicle involved
in a rollover after attempting a severe handling maneuver and striking a curb on the shoulder.
The simulation results were used to create a 3D animation of the accident.

Elevator Door Accident |
A door closed as a woman was slowly exiting an elevator. The door struck her shoulder and legs. Technology Associates
simulated the event to determine if the impact forces were severe enough to cause the injuries claimed.

Water Wagon Rollover |
This simulation was used to investigate the rollover stability of a
large piece of construction equipment.

Two Car Collision |
A left-turning vehicle was struck on the passenger side by an oncoming van. Technology Associates created an animated
simulation to show the post-collision locations of the two vehicles. The simulation was also used to show the van's
speed obtain the impact forces and resulting accelerations for each vehicle.

Pedestrian Trip and fall |
A pedestrian walking through a park allegedly failed to notice an obstruction on the ground and subsequently
tripped and fell. Technology Associates simulated the fall to determine if the pedestrian's
injuries were consistent with the unwitnessed accident.
